roomClutter. We all hate it. In the garage, your desk, and especially anytime you venture to a website. A visually unappealing or confusing site can turn away potential new business or customers quickly, as they have limited time, and even less patience when it comes to getting what they need.

An excellent example is the redesign we did for room, a contemporary upscale home décor and design business. Not only did we have to stay consistent on their web presence with what their core mission is -being the leader in beautiful creative vision for the home- we also had to marry that with a deluge of information. There are over 400 pages on this site displaying all of their product offerings and more.

Because we appreciate your thirst for knowledge (and we’re really proud of this work as well) we are offering a sneak peak into Room’s redesigned Website that will be going live very soon.

The homepage is your guest’s first impression of your digital brand, and for room, we kept the information overload to a minimum, consistent with how they operate. You should notice a uniform color scheme throughout the entire site, and the home page should be welcoming, yet offer all of the pertinent information a reader should be after: address, contact information, and a navigational bar to explore further based on their needs. We purposely did not have flashy graphics, extensive copy or distracting objects invade this space to keep with the consistent clean lines you will see throughout.

For the product pages, we used a lot of white space with eye-popping photography to accentuate the main focus -the product- with accompanying important information about each item.

We found a way to take a massive amount of information and present it in a simple yet hopefully flattering way, all keeping in mind the products. We hope this example shows you do not need to be over-the-top to be top of mind.
