Block Club’s Auction Block

On Friday, October 3, starting at 7 p.m., Block Club Magazine will host Auction Block, an evening of live and silent auctions to benefit local arts organizations. To coincide with the recent release of Block Club’s design issue, the evening will feature original community-themed works by local artists and designers.

“We value the opportunity to bring creative minds together for the sake of Western New York’s cultural community,” says Block Club publisher, Patrick Finan.

Auction Block will take place in The Neighborhood Collective at 810 Elmwood Avenue. Tickets are $25 per person and $40 per pair, available at the door. All proceeds from the event will be donated to local arts organizations, as chosen by the artists and designers.

Participating visionaries include painters Catherine Parker and Michele Conley Vogel; illustrators Tom Rooney and Penny Wyatt; jewelry designers Annie Adams, Karol Kirberger and Stephanie Robb; photographers Catherine Linder Spencer and Linda Gellman; graphic designer Michael Tsanis; The Buffalo News editorial cartoonist Adam Zyglis; typographer and book artist Richard Kegler; and even The Buffalo Zoo’s painting elephant, Surapa.

The silent auction begins at 7 p.m., with a live auction following at 9 p.m. Wine will be served, as well as hors d’oeuvres from Tempo restaurant.
