Dammit Janet!
What are you doing for Halloween? I know it’s a week away, but the festivities have already started. I was in Wegmans the other night and saw two ladies dressed to the eights in some sort of sexy devil ensemble. It was neither sexy nor scary evil. So far I’m planning on wrapping myself in aluminum foil and going as a baked potato. I don’t know what else to do.
Either way, I know where I’ll be this Friday night—that’s right, at the Riviera Theater’s Rocky Horror Picture Party. Starting at 9 p.m., the Riv will host a costume party, DJ Joe spinning a Halloween groove, Eye Candy Burlesque with a Halloween Trick or Tease, members of UB’s Zodiaque Dance Company I, dancing, contests, prizes and lots more (like a cash bar). And then, at midnight, the famed “Rocky Horror Picture Show” will commence, with full-on audience participation and props. (No outside props will be allowed, I am told.)
Tickets cost only $10, so stop thinking of an excuse why you can’t go. Your laundry can wait.
I found this awesome group on Flickr of theater and amateur groups that present “Rocky Horror” in its various forms. Check it out, it’s pretty awesome. Photo courtesy this guy.
