Fall Festivities In Ellicottville This Weekend!

I swear it used to be called Octoberfest; at least I’ve called it that for as long as I can remember.  Even a google search for “Octoberfest Ellicottville” didn’t turn up anything official.  Did they change the name?

According to the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce’s web page, it’s called Fall Festival.  I learned something new.

Ellicottville’s oldest and largest festival kicks off this Saturday, October 6, and runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. throughout the weekend.

For me, Fall Festival has always kick started the fall/holiday/ski season.  A weekend full of unique seasonal food and drinks, live music, arts and crafts; there’s something for everyone.

Just about an hour drive from most parts of WNY, the scenic trek, in itself, is worth it.  The Village of Ellicottville is situated in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, and home to two of the area’s largest ski resorts.  So it’s fall...what does this mean to you?  Mountains and mountains of foliage ablaze with color!

The Nightmare Hayride on Sommerville Street also starts this weekend.  Promising to be the scariest haunted attraction in all of WNY, the ride begins with a twenty five minute tractor drawn hayride full of creepy live creatures.  After the ride, spook seekers are dropped off in an eerie maze that spans over one acre of land, and ultimately lead to a spooktacular haunted barn.  Go if you dare…

So make the drive, take it all in, and enjoy the fall season.  It’s going to be a beautiful weekend!
