I really enjoy the process of finding unusual and special gifts.  When my nieces were young, I was kind of the annoying aunt.  We’d all get together on Christmas morning.  I have what can only be described as a ‘mantra’ of sorts; I would say, ‘Let’s take a moment to appreciate this gift.’ It wasn’t so much to make them say ‘thank you’ but to have them take a moment to enjoy the process of opening the present and sharing the experience.  It’s since been passed down and inflicted upon the future generations of my family.  P.S., they still love me.
