It’s Harder In Heels

Last night the ladies of Shoefly and Clutch, including owner Sue, celebrated the move of Shoefly to their new location at 801 Elmwood (across the street from their former location on Elmwood, now home to BeYouTiful) in style with the .5k Stiletto Run.  Those ladies sure know how to do it up.  The run was not just a fundraiser for ovarian cancer, it was also a really fun opportunity to see grown women run down a city street in high heels....and fall on their butts, if all goes well.  I can’t help to infuse a little schadenfreude in this situation; if you had a few dozen women racing in high heels, you’d laugh at their demise as well.

Luckily, we didn’t see any injuries last night.  We did see, however, more than a few surprises, including a winner with more brawn than herhis competitors.  It’s something else.  Take a look at these photos of our brave runners, their proud supporters and the after-party which went on for quite a while on the corner of Elmwood and Auburn.  Congratulations on an awesome event, Sue.  What a hilarious and fun way to give to charity, celebrate a store’s continued success and enjoy the summer months in style.

Not to be outdone, a boater strolled down the street.  What’s up guys?
