Lettuce Rejoice
I’m not a supermodel, and I know not how to shape someone’s hair into this. But I do appreciate good style in all its glorious forms—clothing (just kidding...i think), home decor, computers, potato peelers.
How wonderful when people extend their taste of style to things like food and drink. Consumption of these elemental things need not be confined to bread and water. The Cold War’s over. (Right?) Let’s get down to business here.
A former colleague of mine (actually, we never quite worked together, though the same guy signed our paychecks) writes a phenomenal food blog called Buffalo Buffet. His is a perspective on local cuisine from its many angles, from agricultural and restaurant industry trends to how to master the perfect home recipe. He and his wife appreciate great food in many forms, and don’t appear to settle for what’s in the cupboard. They eat from their imagination, not just their pantry. He understands that food is both a science and an art. How many things can you say that about? Style and form are just as important as content, whether you’re talking about a laptop or meatloaf.
We spoke on the phone today about some local restaurant happenings, who’s opening what new restaurant, what take-out joint is moving across the street, what we’d love to see open, etc. It was cool because this guy knows what he’s talking about when he’s ordering. If you’re smart, you’ll let him order for you.
Check out this blog and get some ideas for your own kitchen. He’s got great photos, too.
