Mr. Wonderful

So this means nothing to anyone who doesn’t know me, but this weekend in New Orleans I saw my musical and human race idol, Stevie Wonder.  To make this matter to you, I will put it this way:  Whatever is important to your sense of values, your spectrum of humanity and your outlook on life and death is wrapped up—for me, and many others—in the music of Stevie Wonder.  It is an insult to say that he sees the world well for a blind man, although that point is worth making.  It is most appropriate to say that he sees the world the way it should be, and in speaking, singing and playing with such incredible clarity, he inspires others to see things in that way also.

When I arrive back from this musical utopia of New Orleans, I will elaborate on what I’ve seen now 12 months after I first came to this fine city.  I will also most likely say much more about Mr. Wonder and how quite wonderful he is.
