Savor the Flavor of Fall
Seasons have personality, no doubt. So, too, does its food.
The “three sisters” of fall harvest foods—corn, beans and squash—highlight a Savor the Flavor food event tomorrow at the Broadway Market. Local foodies Sharon Osgood (Buffalo Food and Wine Society, Slow Food member, local attorney) and Sandy Starks (Taste of Home Magazine’s WNY Field Editor, founding member of Slow Food) host a day celebrating the Native American culinary traditions and fall harvest.
Participants can expect food demonstrations and tastings of dishes like wild rice salad with cranberry vinaigrette, corn chowder made with rare Iroquois white corn, maple fugde and pumpkin pine nut bread. You won’t know where to begin!
For the cost of $11, you get samples of each dish and recipe cards so you can bring the harvest home. To place your prepaid reservation, call Sandy Starks at 716.839.5150 or register online.
