Slip Into The Night

I was with some friends the other night and we wanted to check out the new Commercial Slip at the Inner Harbor in downtown Buffalo.  We’d seen it in daylight but wanted to see it at night, all lit up and beautiful against the water and city skyline.  I cab say that it’s just as beautiful at night as it is in the daytime, even more alluring in terms of how it adds to the city’s visual identity and overall beauty.  We’ve got a lot to be proud of, and even more to work on, so let’s start using this beautiful piece of property.

I hope we can start having events and activities down there at night.  Imagine a huge projection of a movie on the side of the neighboring grain elevator with speakers on the boardwalk where people can watch outside.  How cool would that be?

Our friend Jennifer took some great pictures of the bridge and surrounding areas of the newly opened inner harbor area.  Take a look…

I had an opportunity to first see this area at night about a month ago.  It’s stunning!  I love the how and where the lights are placed throughout the Canal Side area.  It’s great to see how many people are already down there on a daily basis.  Just wait until there is retail - it’ll draw thousands more.
