Tastes Like Buffalo

It’s another July, and that means one thing for you die-hard Buffalonians out there.  Two, if you count Christmas In July as an actual holiday.  For the rest of you who require food in order to survive, you know how amazing our food is here in Buffalo.  We’ve got almost every taste to taste, in varying degrees of style and opulence.  Some restaurants are better to be seen at, some are better to eat at, some are better to live at....you know what I’m talking about.

Whichever way you get your food, how about we raise a glass to this culinary region and celebrate with the 25th annual Taste of Buffalo.  It’s another big event this year, once again being held at Niagara Square and the few blocks north on Delaware (which is closed, by the way, at Chippewa going south).

I’m not partaking this year, but only because I’m trying to spend less money on restaurants so that I can spend more on those requisite necessities like electricity, car insurance, Mighty Taco and the escalating cost of gasoline.  It’s a shame, but I’ll be okay sitting one year out.  God knows I eat out at many of the event’s featured locations as it is.  Maybe next year.

It’s a beautiful day to spend outside today, and tomorrow will (hopefully) be similarly delicious.  I wish it were a little less steamy, but beggars can’t be choosers.  Can I just ask this, to the loyal Buffalonian eaters out there, and their friends?  Why go to the Taste of BUFFALO and go to the Applebee’s stand?  I don’t get it.  Alas, perhaps it’s not for me to get.  Still......I don’t get it.  Wherever you’re eating, enjoy yourself and be adventurous enough to add some new places to your regular list of eateries and drink joints.  It helps your local economy (which helps everybody, wouldn’t you believe?) and it also helps your stomach.  If you’re careful, it can even help not hurt your wallet, too.
